This open-edition print is based on the largest trompe l'oeil cookie landscape I've painted to date, "Beautiful Day in the Gingerbread Neighborhood." The original painting is 48" x 36". Since there are a lot of details in the original, I've decided I can only offer the print at 15" x 20". This is the largest size I can print in my studio; any smaller and the details get lost.
To create this painting, I first spent a week designing, baking and decorating a real-life gingerbread/cookie/frosting model, then dedicated almost 400 hours to painting a picture of it. It was the most complex painting I've ever done, but also one of the happiest!
You can learn more about the entire process for creating this painting in my three-part blog series: the inspiration, designing and baking the model, and the painting process.
